peax was founded on friendship, shared values, and a belief that the construction industry is ready for something new.

Sam Cooper and Miles Watson met in April 2015 at Overbury, where they quickly formed a strong bond built on mutual respect, similar morals, and a shared ambition to succeed. Over the years, their friendship evolved into a powerful partnership grounded in trust, aligned values, and a passion for doing things the right way.

In 2017, Sam took the leap and founded ROKA Construction, specialising in Education and Ministry of Defence projects. ROKA has since grown into a highly respected business, which Sam continues to lead independently today. Miles remained at Overbury, rising through the ranks to Contracts Manager, where he led complex commercial fit-outs for high-profile clients in Wealth Management, Business Law, Private Equity, and Hedge Funds. After nearly a decade in the industry, Miles stepped away in July 2023 to spend time with his son and family taking space to reset, reflect, and consider his next chapter.

During that break, conversations with Sam naturally reignited often circling around a shared belief that construction in the UK was ready for a fresh perspective. The industry, they felt, had become stale: full of legacy mindsets, rigid processes, and outdated ways of thinking. They knew they could offer something different, a business built for the modern world, grounded in human connection, energy, and innovation.

In April 2024, peax was born.
